On Oct.7th, the girls volleyball team traveled to Francis Howell North to take on the Knights, having won their previous game against the Knights on Sept. 11th. We won the first game with a score of 25-17 and a final game score of 25-12. This time around the girls brought home another win with a score of 25-18 for the first game, losing their second game 24-26 leading them to have to take on a third game, ending with a score of 25-23.Their record now stands at 17-8. For varsity player Caroline Green, there is respect for the sister school’s volleyball program.

They have a really good program, they are always energetic and loud; its always a really fun and intense game,Green said.

The girls take on Fort Zumwalt South tonight at 4 p.m.. Having not played the team before the girls are ready for a fresh game against the Bulldogs. The team seems ready for the game, for varsity player Eva Mich this game feels like a win.

“We fought hard against them last year, I believe we beat them pretty well last year, we will see if they are up to our caliber this year,“ Mich said.

Over the fall break, the girls will be playing their last two regular season games, one against Timberland on Oct.14 and their final game for the season will be against Oakville on Oct.16. For varsity player Sarah Mueller, the regular season is an emotional experience.

“It sucks because over the past couple of years we have became like a family, we have gotten pretty close, and it is surreal that it has already been four years,” Mueller explained.

This season the girls have named Francis Howell their biggest rival, having lost both games to them, they are ready to take them on during the district games. All of the games that they have played since preparing them to take on the Vikings and hopefully bring home a win.

“Howell, we have played three times so far and each time we get closer and closer to beating them, hopefully district championships is where we beat them,” Mich said.
