Spartans head to state

Amid a backdrop of hundreds of students on Thursday, the 23 members of the men’s soccer team headed to its state semifinal game against Lee’s Summit tomorrow. As they exited the school, the team heard the school fight song being played by the band and cheering from their schoolmates.

Meet the Spartans

The men’s soccer team takes on Lee’s Summit at 6 p.m. today. Learn a bit more about each of the players on the team below.

The 22-4-1 Spartans will fight for a spot in the championship game – against either Chaminade or Rockhurst – tomorrow afternoon at Blue Springs South High School as part of the Class 4 championship.

Should the Spartans win, they will play at 3 p.m. Saturday for the state title for the first time. Should they lose, the Spartans will play at 11 a.m. Saturday for third place.
