Star Spartans stood in the bright spotlight, shivering with anticipation as they waited for their mystery teacher to award them with their Silver Shield.

Students were hand selected by a teacher to receive a Silver Shield award, to acknowledge their hard work, dedication, and perseverance at school. As many students were unaware of which teacher choose them to be selected, the students stood there nervously waiting.

“I thought Silver Shield was fun and it was exciting to see all my classmates and learn about all their achievements that I really didn’t know about and also to see the teachers get excited about something like this and know that they value the students,” said senior and recipient of a Silver Shield from Ms. Schaefer, Kyle Gismegian.
