Boys cross county moves two onto sectionals
McNair Park was filled with athletes Friday, Oct. 16th for an immense, important Cross Country meet. Teammates encouraged each other and parents watched on eagerly. Those who placed high enough would be moving on to sectionals.
Unfortunately for the female varsity runners, due to injuries and sickness, the usual team of seven girls was reduced to three runners at the meet and none of them placed high enough to move on to sectionals. Of the seven varsity boys, two of them placed high enough to advance to sectionals, Junior Zach Painter and Senior Devin Hatten.
Injured sophomore runner Brittany Kindred said,
“Having practice every day is tiring and hard work, but all that pain pays off once you finally cross the finish line, no matter how you place.”, Kindred said.
