Lady Spartans defeat Fort Zumwalt West 2-0.

Senior Emma Farley raises the Class 4, District 6 trophy toward her teammates after the girls soccer team defeated Fort Zumwalt West on Thursday, 2-1.

Goals from two freshmen sent the girls soccer team into sectionals on Thursday. Newcomers Alyssea Braun and Molly Krispin each tallied goals in the first half against Fort Zumwalt West to give the Lady Spartans the win over their conference rival.

The victory gave the Lady Spartans their sixth district title in school history and second in consecutive years.

The girls will take on Francis Howell North on Tuesday at Don Muench Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. The teams split their two earlier games this season, with the Lady Spartans winning 1-0 in April and the Lady Knights earning a 2-1 victory earlier this month.
