Coming out on top

The Lady Spartan varsity volleyball team had their work cut out for them against a tough Zumwalt West squad on September 12th. The game looked promising after the Spartans came out on top of the first set 25-16, but the West jaguars would not go down without a fight, and took the second set over the Spartans 25-23. After a long talk and trying to fix some kinks, the Spartans won the third set 25-20.

Outside/rightside hitter, Kayla Steinmeyer, reflected on the year so far, because the team has had some ups and downs this season.

“Overall, this year we’ve played pretty well. We started off very slow because we really didn’t know each other, but we have finally picked up the pace. But sometimes, we do have lul’s within the games, and we try our best to talk it out and fix the problem before it costs us the game,” Steinmeyer said.

The Spartans are hoping to keep growing as a team and continue to become better and better to come out on top of the schools in GAC South.
